50 Must-Read Middle School Mystery Books | Book Riot
I know I did. I will look forward to her next book. She has yet to disappoint me. This was my first book by Elisabeth Rees and it won't be my last!! Fast paced and suspenseful from the first page, I was completely drawn in by the character of Kitty and her drive to clear her father from a murder she feels he was wrongfully convicted. Now the REAL killer is trying to silence her. I love the way Ryan, the Chief Deputy, wasn't convinced of her father's innocence but realized that she needed protection from someone looking to harm her or kill her.
I also loved that because of sit This was my first book by Elisabeth Rees and it won't be my last!! I also loved that because of situations in his own life, he wasn't willing to even meet her father at first and seemed unwilling to forgive. The pace of the plot, the relationships of the characters, and the finale of who REALLY killed the girl her father was accused of and was trying to silence Kitty was superbly done!
Kitty Linklater is the only one who believes her father is innocent. Who is attacking her? Twists and turns that keep you turning the pages until the surprising ending. Loved how strong and determined Kitty was. Ryan struggled, but still knew what he needed to do for justice.
